This Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program is available to Boynton Union Connect member employees and provides a free Lyft ride home for non-drive-alone commuters. Our GRH program allows for six Lyft vouchers per year.

To get additional vouchers, you must log your commutes. Earn 50 points for every sustainable trip logged, with a maximum of 100 points a day. Each voucher costs 300 points, and anyone who participates in the program is given 300 points to start with.

Things that qualify as emergencies:

• Mandated, unscheduled overtime*

• Personal emergency for you or someone you care for

• Personal illness or illness of someone you care for

• Unexpected change to your carpool or vanpool schedule**

• Damage to your bicycle preventing you to use it to get home

*For unscheduled overtime, if your regular commute mode is transit travel, transit must not be available within 30 minutes of your departure time.

** In the case of a carpool, passengers are eligible to use the GRH program if the carpool driver is unavailable to provide a ride home for the above-mentioned reasons. In the case of a vanpool driver, the back-up driver will drive the vanpool and the driver may access the GRH.

Things that do not qualify as emergencies:

• Travel from home to work

• Voluntary overtime

• Inclement weather or city/state/national emergencies

• MBTA service failure

• After hour work celebrations

• Scheduled meetings, scheduled overtime, or pre-scheduled events taking place after normal business hours

• Building evacuations

If the GRH trip does not comply with the above terms and conditions, the fee for the ride will be charged to your personal Lyft account. Repeat incidents of inappropriate use of the GRH program may result in suspension of your GRH benefit. ERH vouchers will expire within 8 hours of entering it into the Lyft app. Participants who have 5 or less vouchers banked can rollover one voucher into the new year. Participants who have banked the maximum of 6 rides will be eligible to rollover two vouchers into the new year.

Boynton Union Connect employees and residents can receive a $50 gas card per group for carpooling to work together!

In order for your group to receive a gas card at the end of the month, you must carpool together at least EIGHT TIMES per month. EACH PARTICIPANT must LOG ALL CARPOOL TRIPS to be eligible to receive the gas card. At least one carpool member must be an employee or resident of a Boynton Union Connect member who currently commutes by car.

Participants are credited 1 point for each carpool trip and can earn a maximum of 2 points per day.

In order to redeem your Bluebikes pass: read the guidelines below to see if you’re eligible for a free or discounted membership. Then, you can register and redeem the Bluebikes incentive to start riding!

Live & work in a Bluebikes service area? - If you’re a Boynton resident or employee who lives and works in a city serviced by Bluebikes, you can receive one FREE annual Bluebikes Membership (normally $129) from us!

Free Membership Qualifications:

• Any resident or employee of Boynton Union Connect member who lives/works in Arlington, Boston, Brookline, Chelsea, Cambridge, Everett, Malden, Medford, Newton, Revere, Salem, Somerville, or Watertown.

• Must use your Bluebikes Membership an average of 10x’s per month.

Live or work outside of a Bluebikes service area? - If you’re a Boynton Union Connect member resident or employee that lives/works outside of an area serviced by Bluebikes, you can receive a discounted Bluebikes Annual Membership for only $73.50 (normally $133) from us.

Discounted Membership Qualifications:

• Any Boynton Union Connect member employee or resident and live or work outside of a Bluebikes service area, or an Assembly employee that lives outside a Bluebikes service area.

• Must use your new Bluebikes membership an average of 3x a month.
